Samantha J. Hauff, M.D.

Dr. Samantha Hauff is a board-certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon. She grew up in Michigan and has a lifelong love for unsalted water and midwestern food. She traveled east to Baltimore for college, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University, graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors. She returned home to the Midwest to attend the University of Michigan Medical School, where she also conducted research focused on cancers of the head and neck.

Dr. Hauff moved to the West Coast for her husband’s Navy career, and she fell in love with San Diego and the surrounding areas. In 2017, she completed her 6-year residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at UCSD Medical Center. She briefly lived in Okinawa, Japan, then moved back to San Diego in 2018. She worked for a time in Chula Vista before opening Sunset ENT in 2020.

Dr. Hauff is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery Foundation and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. She considers it a great honor and privilege to serve the San Diego community. In her free time, Dr. Hauff enjoys tennis, reading, eating good food and going to the zoo with her kids

Samantha J. Hauff, M.D.

Dr. Samantha Hauff is a board-certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon. She grew up in Michigan and has a lifelong love for unsalted water and midwestern food. Michael J. Coulter, M.D.

Dr. Michael Coulter is a board-certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon. He grew up in Southern California, but traveled to the East Coast for education after high school.  He studied BioChemistry and earned his Bachelor of Science at Stony Brook University, while starting as the football team’s Quarterback.  He then graduated from medical school at his alma mater with top honors including Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honors Societies.

After medical school, he was commissioned as a United States Navy Officer.  His naval commitment brought him to San Diego for his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where he was awarded the Navy commendation medal.  His dedication to science and evidence-based medicine is apparent, demonstrated by his 15 peer-reviewed journal publications.

After completion of his training, he helped treat active duty Marines, their dependents, and retirees at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton for 4 years.  He was honored to serve those who sacrifice so greatly for our country, and is now looking forward to building his reputation in the civilian community.  Dr. Coulter is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery Foundation, and treats nearly all ENT conditions as a comprehensive Otolaryngologist, although he has a particular interest in treating patients who need surgery for sleep apnea and rhinoplasty.  

Dr. Coulter strives to ensure each patient fully understands their medical condition in order to make a treatment plan collaboratively and achieve the best results.  He embraces the vibrant and diverse San Diego community.  During his free time, he loves exploring outside in San Diego with his wife and 3 young children.  He also enjoys playing piano and guitar.

She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Loyola University Chicago and her Master of Physician Assistant Practice from the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the California Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
